This is review week! If you are doing 3 year old homeschool, how is it going? Yesterday, Jessica said that Hadley is acting like she doesn’t know the colors and numbers that she learned the past few weeks. I told her I am not sure that she is not playing around–pretending that she doesn’t know them because that is not what she wants to do.
She frequently knows we are asking her questions and expecting certain responses. She likes to not give the response that she knows that person wants. For example: If I ask her, “who loves you?”, she knows I want her to say, “Grammy”. She will choose to say, “Poppy” or “Mommy” or “G”, looking for me to respond in shock or whatever…
We are constantly having to try to figure out how to outsmart a 3 year old!! How do you teach when they don’t want to cooperate? You have to get very creative! Instead of asking for the blue blocks, you may say, “I wonder how fast you can put all of the blue blocks in the bucket”. The focus goes to “how fast” rather than “blue blocks”. 🙂
I would love to hear your creative ways of teaching in the comments below!
