Using large, uppercase letters, write the child’s name on a piece of paper. Lay out a set of letter flashcards. Have the child find the matching flashcard letter to place under the matching written letter in her name. Afterwards, point and say the name of each letter.
Day 1: Tactile numbers(also called sandpaper or textured)—because many 3 year olds do not have the fine motor skills for handwriting activities, trace the numbers with the child’s finger. As the child traces the tactile numbers, be sure to say the number rhymes included in the objectives to help the child learn the correct information
Day 2: Put number flashcards (0-4) in the correct order.
Day 3: Using the Five Little Ducks worksheet, order the 0-4 ducks.
• Fine Motor Skill:
Using candy corn or other small candy, create groups of candy from 0 to 4 in a pile. Pick up each piece of candy with the thumb and index finger.
• Gross Motor Skill:
On the floor lay pieces of papers with numbers (0-4) on them. Have the child hop the numbers in sequential order.
